Attractions, Activities & Entertainment
There’s no shortage of activities, attractions and entertainment to keep you occupied in Manukau!
Manukau's best known attraction is probably Rainbow's End, New Zealand's only traditional theme park and a much-loved family destination for over 20 years. Low key in comparison to other international theme parks - but that's pure Kiwi - honest fun for all ages.
Rainbow's End isn't the only attraction in Manukau however - there are many other fabulous visitor attractions and activities!
Our newest attraction is Butterfly Creek, the largest butterfly house in the Southern Hemisphere, just a few minutes from Auckland Airport, where there are viewing sites to watch planes land and take off. Butterfly Creek also features the only Australian Salt Water Crocodiles in New Zealand.
For those who enjoy walking around an outstanding garden, which featured on the BBC's Monty Don show, Round the World in 80 Gardens, should visit Ayrlies in Whitford.
Live days, every 3rd Sunday of the month, at the award winning Howick Historical Village in Pakuranga, are a must. The village recreates one of the outlying settlements built to protect Auckland in the 1840s.
Activities include karting, paintball, ice skating and adventure golf.
On the entertainment front, worth a mention is Berkeley Cinema, an 8 theatre multiplex, located at the Botany Town Centre. SkyCity Cinemas, too, operate a multiplex theatre in the extended Westfield Manukau shopping complex.
