Manukau Coast & Countryside

It is hard to believe but just minutes from Auckland International Airport and you are in a different world.

Manukau is a unique blend of urban, rural and coastal – meaning opportunities for fun, adventure and relaxation abound.

Nestled on Manukau's western shore Ambury Regional Park is bordered by the Manukau Harbour with views across to Manukau Heads and Waitakere Ranges.  This park is a working farm and birdwatcher's paradise - home to Manukau's godwits and many other species.

Additionally, there are 16 Premier Parks spread around Manukau city, offering an eclectic mix of ecological, historic and landscape values.  For a map of these parks, download

On Manukau's eastern side, rolling countryside interspersed with native bush, overlooks the magnificent Hauraki Gulf.  Drive the Pacific Coast Highway following the Pōhutukawa Coast and then continue along the Seabird Coast.  Explore the many scenic reserves and regional parks along the way.
